How Hospice Helps

Why: Half of eligible patients received hospice care for a national average of a mere 18.7 days at the end of their lives (NHPCO) - that is almost 5 months less than what the Medicare hospice benefit allows. YOU can help change this! The Texas Association for Home Care & Hospice (TAHC&H) is asking you to share your story. Start an open dialogue about the benefits of hospice care. Tell everyone you know about the initiative!

How: Share your story here or on Facebook and "Like" our page!

What: How Hospice Helps’ mission is to teach about the benefits of hospice care by creating awareness through a community of shared stories.

TYPO is a group for young home health and hospice professionals to interact and network together.  Persons in TYPO have the opportunity to get involved, learn how to make a difference in the association, and become the next generation of leaders.  TYPO hopes to build a sense of belonging to the community, as well as being a part of something with a high minded purpose.  We seek a safe, engaging environment based on goodwill and meaningful conversation.

TAHC&H’s strong ties at the state and federal levels, as well as its insight into the home care industry, have helped Home and Community Support Services Agencies time and again.  With the strength of agencies statewide, TAHC&H makes a difference in the political process through grassroots involvement, relationships with elected officials, and through campaign contributions.

While TAHC&H has a strong presence through its professional staff and political consultants, to truly be effective it is key that TAHC&H members become a partner in advocacy through
  • Grassroots Involvement
  • PAC Contributions
  • Supporting TAHC&H's Advocacy & Political
    Strategy (TAPS) Program
